red fabric Parker Knoll chair

From humble beginnings in a simple workshop in London 150 years ago, Parker Knoll has been renowned for designing and developing the best handmade British sofas and chairs. Established in 1968 by Shoreditch born cabinet maker Frederick Parker, he took great pride in crafting the finest furniture using time-honoured techniques. Having learnt from his father, he later passed his skills and commitment to quality, comfort and design onto his sons which remain the founding principles at the heart of Parker Knoll today.

From furnishing the homes of Victorian gentry to manufacturing the first new generation recliners during the 1960’s, Parker Knoll have a rich heritage in upholstery and have always been at the forefront of design, technology and innovation. Over the past 150 years the in-house design team, now based at their state of the art manufacturing facility in Nottinghamshire, have built up a wealth of experience and expertise as well as a commitment to high quality, exquisite comfort and distinct style.

As they celebrate their 150 year anniversary, Collection 150 takes inspiration from the 1920s and 30s, a defining era for Parker Knoll during post war Britain. By combining the Art Deco influences from this period with a contemporary aesthetic, the collection celebrates beautiful shape, excellent craftsmanship and intricate detail. Experience the Parker Knoll story and delve into a tale of British craft that has transpired into a beautiful and refined collection.

Characterised by its iconic design, Hoxton features straight lines and exquisite tailoring that make this a stand out range within the collection. The plush fabric and voluptuous shape complements the 1920’s and 30’s styling and Hoxton’s premium deep-seated comfort. With a selection of wood finishes and the option to embellish the stylish turned legs with brushed chrome or brass, it’s the defining details which really bring this range to life.

Drawing influence from the same period, the beautifully buttoned Wycombe sofa is accented by fabric designs shaped by the look of Art Deco interiors. An archive inspired modern chesterfield, Wycombe has classic scroll arms, deep sumptuous seats and elegant proportions. Available as a grand sofa through to a complementary snuggler, Wycombe’s refined colour palette and supreme comfort celebrate Parker Knoll’s rich history.

Fitzroy is a stylish tub chair inspired by classic design for a contemporary aesthetic that makes it perfect for modern living. Taking influence from the Art Deco era, its sweeping arms and curved back are defining features of this range that accent the collection effortlessly. With a bolster cushion for added support, the Fitzroy chair looks beautiful when upholstered in a pastel plain fabric with complementary Art Deco prints.

Inspired by lounge chairs on board naval ships during the war, Shoreditch offers an opulent look with contemporary wings and a fluted back. A design which gives substance to Parker Knoll’s attention to detail, the chair beautifully offsets the sofas within Collection 150 and commands attention. Its rich textured structure, distinctive arms and striking co-ordinating fabric stories illustrate Shoreditch’s refined style and abundance of comfort.
