With our Winter Sale TV ad comes the return of our rising star Eva Connor, the little seven-year-old who encapsulated a nation with her winning smile and charming personality. But the little star hasn’t stopped there; she has now been catapulted into stardom after being invited to New York Fashion Week where she lit up the runway.
Eva modelled for the brand Camilla and loved having her hair and make up done. During her trip alongside modelling she relished visiting Times Square, the Empire State Building as well as a walk through the infamous Central Park. With one of her lines in her upcoming theatre role in the production of Annie being ‘until it shines like the top of the Chrysler building’, Eva said seeing this in person was one of her favourite moments.
Whilst this was one of her biggest trips to date, last year Eva wasn’t short of success. In April she took part in a charity fashion show and won ‘Best on Runway’ for her age category as well as an award for charity fundraising. She won two trophies and arranged her own concert to raise funds for the ‘Follow Your Dreams’ charity and Francis House. In September she was chosen to become the face of Fashion Mart where she had the delight of being interviewed on radio. Always one for modesty Eva said she was genuinely surprised yet delighted to be picked as there were so many experienced models there.
Not one to limit her talents, Eva has also flourished in acting and was able to tread the boards for the first time on the Palace Theatre stage. She appeared in Ellen Kent’s opera La Boheme and has just finished a run of Tiny Tim in a production of A Christmas Carol. She has also been shooting for a number of Channel 4 short films including Random Acts. Over the summer she even filmed promo work for CBeebies for their new series of Go Jetters and Swashbuckle, something which she loved as she states the presenters were ‘kind, funny and nice’.
As well as her pride in her modelling success, when asked what achievements she’s most proud of Eva said of her awards in dancing ballet and tap, achieving Distinctions in all her exams. She also attained trophies in Irish Dancing; meaning she gets the honour of wearing a ‘proper dress’. She has also trained in Musical Theatre completing Verse and Prose exams through LAMDA and has achieved the highest grades in each one.
Despite being busy of late, Eva has set her sights higher with an invite to walk again in London Fashion Week in February. With her long list of achievements one thing‘s for sure; this little star is sure to shine. Watch this space….
